Name tag or key fob
A tag 60 × 22 mm and 2.4 mm thick with a 5 mm hole for a key ring and a name 1 mm high on top. One of the quickest things to print: ten minutes or so.
What it is good for
- Key fobs and bag tags
- Names for backpacks, lunch boxes and bottles
- Small gifts and labels for keys
How to make it
- Open the template and type the name into the text.
- Make the tag longer or shorter to fit it; the hole stays at its end.
- For a whole group, use the template "Name tags for a whole group" instead.
- Download for your printer.
Printing it
- Two colors print with one filament change at the height where the name starts.
- Rings of 1–1.5 mm wire fit the 5 mm hole; for a thicker ring make the hole bigger.
Questions and answers
Will a long name fit?
Make the tag longer or the letters smaller. Shapetinker warns when the name reaches over the edge of the tag or covers the hole.
Is 2.4 mm strong enough?
For keys, yes in PETG; in PLA give it 3 mm and 3 perimeters.
